  • PRESENTING AUTHORS WITH ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS ARE ENCOURAGED, BUT NOT REQUIRED, TO PUBLISH THEIR PAPER(S) IN THE SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE ITALIAN JOURNAL OF REMOTE SENSING (RIVISTA ITALIANA DI TELERILEVAMENTO, NOW AN ISI JOURNAL) DEDICATED TO URSI-F MEETING (http://www.aitonline.it/rivista=pubblicasuait.cfm). ONLY PAPERS SUBMITTED, REGISTERED AND PRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE WILL BE INCLUDED IN  THE SPECIAL ISSUE. IF AN AUTHOR CHOOSES TO PUBLISH IN THE ITALIAN JOURNAL OF REMOTE SENSING, THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS APPLY:
  • PREPARE A 6-8PAGE PAPER (INCLUDING ALL FIGURES, TABLES, AND REFERENCES)
  • SUBMIT THE PAPER BY THE DEADLINE OF JANUARY 10, 2011 TO THE ADDRESS: INFO@URSIF2010.ORG. ARTICLES WILL BE REVISED BY TWO EXPERTS CHOSEN BY THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE.

The microwave community is invited to participate in this meeting and present new research results and instrument designs in the field of microwave remote sensing of land, ocean and atmosphere. Suggested topics are listed below but consideration will be given to papers on other related subjects.

  • Theory and physical principles and models of emission, scattering and absorption from the Earth’s atmosphere and surface
  • Inversion of microwave data and retrieval of atmospheric and surface parameters
  • Microwave observations of the atmosphere (temperature, water vapor, clouds, rain, pollutants) and the surface (soil and vegetation, ocean, ice, snow)
  • Polarimetry and applications
  • SAR techniques and applications
  • Observation from advanced satellite systems
  • Potential new applications for climate and global change
  • New technological development (receivers, antennas, calibration)
  • Anticipated missions (field campaigns and spacecraft)
